We had set up a special project week to connect all voluntarily participating children from different age groups in the production of this video. The school closure stopped us in the middle of the recordings with the lyrics only half-finished.
Therefore, what you get to see is the best we could make out of the existing material plus a few shots of the children at home.

Our pupils invented the lyrics themselves. They sing:

I wish for peace for my music

with all my heart, fun with friends

I want freedom, freedom, freedom!

Hi, all Schoolovisioners!
All of us at Kringsjå Primary School are happy to take part in "Schoolovision 2020". Luckily we started planning early this year, and some of the video was recorded before the virus closed down our school. Many of our students recorded the dance at home and sent it to us. Now 1st - 4th grade students are back at school. We hope the rest will follow soon. But in our "Schoolovision" video we are all together!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com43tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1191754910742446638.post-81719676569300062332020-05-06T19:35:00.000+02:002020-05-06T21:23:37.081+02:00Estonia - Härrasmees (Gentleman)

This spring came differently and we had to change our plans. How to perform when everybody is at home and we can't practice. We decided to take a familiar song and one singer. Lev sang this song in the competition Silver Voice in our school last spring and got the first place. This spring he agreed to sing it again and we had possibility to record and film it at school.

The song is about a gentleman in his prime. He walks around and dreams. This is something we would like to do today too but we have to wait a bit. Maybe tomorrow we can.

Many thanks to Anu Röömel who allowed us to use his beautiful song.

We proudly present the Polish entry for Schoolovision 2020. This year we produced our song being home.

We sing a song about children's rights.
Last year marked the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Thirty years ago, world leaders made a historic commitment to the world's children by adopting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child on 20 November 1989.

I have a right to live
I have a right to be myself
To feel safe, to be free.
I have a right to love and be loved.
You can't hurt, humiliate or beat me.

The children's rights are serious.
The children's rights aren't a game.

I can laugh
It can be beautiful.
I want to be healthy, grow at my rate.
I have the right to choose my friends by myself.
You can't force me to do bad things.

I have a right to dream
I have a right to be different
I may be weaker but I don't feel guilty.
I have the right to sing out loud when I want
I have the right to cry quietly when I'm angry.Marek Fularzhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09177785154958162881noreply@blogger.com26tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1191754910742446638.post-28875998443960590322020-05-01T13:00:00.000+02:002020-05-01T14:10:10.569+02:00Finland - Kurittula-räppiWe are very happy to be able to represent Finland in the 2020 Schoolovision contest!
Along with the following rap you will get acquainted with our school that was taken into use in the autumn of 2019!
The rap was made by the rhythm club members of our school and the whole personnel of the school was involved in it.
The schools in Finland were closed in March due to the coronavirus. We had to finish the video working from homes and using the material that existed already. This spring has taught us that we should never give up, necessity is the mother of invention :)
Best wishes to all of you from Finland, stay healthy and safe!

Hello, friends!

We´re so happy, that we could finish our 12th contribution at Schoolovision in those hard times and hope you´re all feeling fine and healthy!
Let us make you laugh a little bit! Have fun watching it and singing with us!

This year we started collecting ideas, texting, preparing our logo for the hoodies and
the dance before school was closed in Austria. For the vocals, the videos and pictures we say thank you to all parents and children for doing it by Home office;)
Thank you to Johannes, Paul and Julian! You did great work putting together all the pieces!

Our Song is about the children’s wish to grow old immediately and be able to do all the things their parents do. This wish is expressed in each chorus. In the end the kids realize it is not that easy to walk in their shoes…
During the first verse the children search for items that their parents usually wear or use. They find Mum’s nail polish and high heels as well as their dad’s suit, watch, car keys and shaving foam. In the second verse the kids are facing obstacles of trying to be an adult. The watch fell on the floor and broke into pieces. The police stopped them because they have been driving too fast and nail polish is now all over the wall. In the bridge the parents come back to the house. The children hide every trace of what they have done from their parents. After all they are relived that they can return to live as children again.Ursula + Mariahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15319871297033933247noreply@blogger.com32tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1191754910742446638.post-3590750233561546002020-04-20T17:58:00.001+02:002020-04-21T15:41:22.426+02:00Scotland - Blue Skies

In these very strange times, Scotland are back. Like schools across Europe, we are currently closed, and in a situation of limbo, unsure of what the future holds.

Our school choir, along with a few children from a school close by, Aberlady, were hard at work before lockdown on this piece and so we present it here in SV2020 as a message of hope...Hope for the future for all of us.

Let's hope there are Blue Skies ahead for ALL of us!

Remarkably, both the audio and video were recorded entirely on various devices at home, then put together and edited, and we give a very special thanks to music teacher Kenny Hutchison and also to Pippa Murphy for their expertise in bringing this all together!Michaelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01025240483147169363noreply@blogger.com19tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1191754910742446638.post-79907256371739161602020-03-05T08:51:00.000+01:002020-05-07T00:29:44.790+02:00Ireland - One Small Change

As an award winning film making school, we felt that this year’s school film project would be the ideal platform through which to raise the whole issue of climate change. The children wanted to spread the message to other school children as to how they too could make a difference in their own small way.
After discussion and brainstorming, it was decided that a music video was the way to go. Contact was made with Garry McCarthy, GMC Beats, and he came to Cappabue NS for a “ Song in a Day” workshop. Working in groups, the children came up with the entire content of the song themselves. Garry set up a recording desk in the classroom and, under his expert direction, “One Small Change” was born!

Everyone involved was blown away by the song and we decided immediately to pull out all the stops to create a music video to do the song justice. Former pupil Elaine Lucey, who has helped with some of our film projects in the past, was happy to work with us.

We went on location to local beauty spots including Gougane Barra, Glengarriff Nature Reserve and Snave Beach, places which truly remind us that the area in which we live is more than worth protecting.
Local man Darren O’Sullivan and past pupil Daniel Lucey’s drone footage really enhanced the beauty of our surroundings to share with everyone. Filming was also done in school and in a parent’s jeep! Car pool karaoke at its best!
We are so proud of the end product. It is being shared extensively. The message the children wanted to spread is really being delivered, which is what the project sought to achieve in the first instance.

We welcome all members, new and old, to this unique eTwinning project, which guarantees fun for all participants, students and teachers alike, as we learn about each others' cultures through the medium of music and song with the added excitement of a friendly competition.

Full rules below; please read them carefully!

OVERVIEW

Following a similar format to the Eurovision Song Contest, Schoolovision 2020 will once again allow one primary school from each eTwinning (Plus) country and beyond wishing to participate, to record and upload a song of their choice, to be viewed by all other participants in the project.

In addition, all countries will be asked to evaluate and vote for their favourite songs after they have listened to all the others - and of course, voting for yourself will not be allowed!

You and your class will have until Friday, 08 May to decide upon your song, practise it, video it, and get it uploaded and embedded onto the project blog website, using either YouTube or Vimeo.
Once all songs are uploaded, you will need to get your class to watch all the other countries' entries and decide who will receive your votes. This should be done in the week from Monday, 11 May until Thursday, 14 May.

On Friday, 15 May 2020 you have two choices: You can either join the team for a video conference, starting at 10.00 am CEST time, during which we will announce our votes to each other and total the votes up, so we can establish the winner. Or, if this is not possible, you will be able to watch a recording of the video conference afterwards to see who the winners are, or simply visit the project website, as the results will be posted straight after the video conference finishes.
In any case, you will need to email your votes to Steffen, the project administrator, by Thursday evening (14 May) and NO LATER than 1800 hrs CEST. Thus we will be able to successfully total all the votes from all participating countries and announce who are Schoolovision champions for 2020. The winning school will be sent a specially commissioned trophy!

FULL RULES

1. There can only be one entry from each country with an independent status. Usually, this will mean one participating school per country. As a special exception, joint entries of two schools from one country are acceptable.

2. Schoolovision is for primary schools only. In addition, the participants (active singers) must be a maximum of 12 years old during the present school year. Their turning 13 in between is acceptable.

3. All previous entrants will already have received a request, asking you to confirm that you wish to enter the 2020 contest. After your confimation you will receive an invitation (via eTwinning) to become an official partner in the project, followed later by a separate invitation to contribute to the project blog. You need to sign up for the blog, whereby you will be able to upload your finished song in due course.

In addition, please send Steffen a photograph of your school and the link to its website, so that everyone can see which countries and schools are participating this time.

4. The song you choose to sing should be one of your choice, hopefully chosen in collaboration with your pupils, and can be sung in any language. It can be a well-known song, or an original song that perhaps no-one else will have heard of- it's up to you!
However, it MUST be connected to your country in some way. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT IF THE SONG HAS BEEN COPYRIGHTED, YOU MUST GET PERMISSION BEFORE USING IT.

5. Musical accompaniment is permitted but only in the following way: Members of your class (your pupils) who wish to play musical instruments can do so, and your song can have adult help who could for example, play a piano or a keyboard to lead the tune of the song. Alternatively, you can use a CD for the tune (but without the original singers' voices) - your children MUST do the singing!

6. All entries MUST be completed and uploaded by Friday, 08 May midnight at the latest. When your song is ready, it is your task to post the video of your song to the project website via www.blogger.com using the embed code provided by either YouTube or Vimeo. All files must be uploaded by Friday, 08 May, as each country will then need to watch all the entries and judge them during the following week, Monday, 11 May till Thursday, 14 May.

7. Once you and your pupils have watched each entry and chosen your favourites, please email your choices to Steffen before 1800 hrs CET on THURSDAY, 14 MAY.
YOU MUST NOT VOTE FOR YOUR OWN ENTRY!

7.a As of 2018 we adopted the latest ESC rule according to which 50 % of the votes are given by an expert jury, in this case us teachers. As we are not technically able to copy the exact voting process of the ESC, we will install it in such a way that all partners will mix their national pupil votes with their own teacher votes before sending them in. This new process renders the teacher votings we performed in previous years unnecessary.

8. It is always a great experience to receive positive and encouranging comments. By participating in this project, you also agree to encourage your pupils to write such comments under the videos of their partners. Equally, you will reserve some time to write a number of comments yourselves. You are welcome to encourage colleagues and parents to follow your example, thus making the great work of your pupils and yourselves more known and positively regarded, just as the whole Schoolovision project.

9. In the earlier years of this project all countries' entries were listed according to their results. However, since some partners were unhappy with the unequal chances (perhaps due to different availability of technical and muscial support in the various countries), a new rule was installed in 2016. All partners can choose if they wish to be listed with the full result or if they just wish to be named including a link to their entry. The top 20 scores will be published automatically; all others may opt in to be listed with their actual results.

GOOD LUCK to all countries, and enjoy making your own and watching all the other entries, too!
May the best overall entry win the contest!

*** As said above, the whole point of Schoolovision is that you try to sing something that relates to your country. If you compose your own song - fantastic! Over the past years, we have had some really outstanding compositions by various Schoolovision teams.
If you choose to sing a song that has already been recorded previously, then it MUST be culturally relevant to your own country. If you're unsure whether your song idea complies with this rule, please contact Steffen and Marek.Steffenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12055176185062412769noreply@blogger.com0
